Boards, connectors, batteries and housings are checked as one assembly. X-ray and CT show solder joints, component position and the battery without opening the device.
Boards and solder joints
Cold joints, bridges, insufficient solder and through-hole fill are checked on the populated board, in 2D at the line or layer by layer with planar CT.
Assemblies
Connectors, screws, cables and shields are checked in the closed device: position, completeness and clearance.
Small batteries
Electrode alignment and deformation of pouch and button cells are inspected inside the product.
